I am a writer hear my roar

If you don’t like it there is the door.

I am here to tell stories and poems from far away

Some might even say “Hooray”

I’m no expert with great words

And some might be really absurd.

But I’m sure you will like these things I say

If you don’t …don’t dismay.

My writing comes from my old grey hair

Its seems so long that I have sat on this chair

At loose ends........

At loose ends … Being a mum is probably the best job in the world, Well for me anyway. I grew up thinking that this was going to be easy you know? G et pregnant, have a baby (easy)  G et a husband (yeah right, who was I kidding?) No one gives you a book with all the instructions, you just have to figure it all out yourself. W hat the hell is happening to my body? Why did I do this? W hy can’t I see my toes anymore? Being a first time mum I was scared shirtless (computer won’t let me put what I wanted) It was so weird!  I had been a size 8 all of my life, then all of a sudden I wasn’t and it was like I had just eaten my former self. W here did this fat person come from ? I had to get clothes that would cover this enormous bump. Now in my later years I've found that having my children grown up I was at a loose end and that I needed something to fill in my time. Can I be a writer for 4 days

As the sky slowly turned to black there was an orange glow in the town of Mildura, it was the writer’s festival approaching. Photo by Donna Baldwin from the 2017WIA@Mildura Festival It all started on a Friday night in Mildura, it was a gala night that started a four day event the likes of which most have never seen before, oh except for the previous years of course. I myself could only dream of what was going to happen as this was a first for me.
